Day Two

York Ebor Meeting 2016 - Day Two

The highlight of Day Two at the Ebor Meeting is of course the Yorkshire Oaks, won in 2010 by the excellent Midday who is likely to return this season to defend her crown. There is also the Lowther Stakes a Group Two for 2 year old fillies which is an early trial for the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket next May and is always worth keeping a close eye.The day however starts off with the Yearling Stakes over six furlongs at 14.00.

The Yorkshire Oaks is one of the highlights of the season for the fillies as it gives the younger horses the chance to compete against the older ones over the Oaks distance and it really is one of the feature races of the week on the Knavesmire.
