The big race of the festival is the Betfred York Ebor and it was won by the Brian Ellison trained Moyenne Corniche who stayed on well to claim the glory in 2011. The Yorkshire Oaks Odds are often the highlight of the week up at York and no doubt we will see pleny of nice fillies take their chance in 2011, we had a top class winner in Midday last season and it always seems to attract some of the best around over the trip.

Ebor Handicap 2012

The big race of the week is of course the Ebor Handicap Odds themselves, it is one of the most popular races of the season always attracts a good quality field on the second day of the meeting. We have had some excellent winners of the race in recent years with some great value on offer punters at the same time, the last two winners in Sesenta and All The Good both winning the Ebor at a great price of 25/1.

This years race is alreay shaping up to be another cracker with betting looking tight at this early stage, Harris Tweed and Martyr are being well backed while The Betchworth Kid could be back in the race after coming seventh in the race last year.

Juddmonte International Stakes 2012

The International Stakes is also known as the Juddmonte and in recent years has become an important and popular race, it is run over 1m 2f so often attracts some of the very best horses around. This is highlighted with the fact that the sensational Sea The Stars won the race in 2009 while Rip Van Winkle claimed the prize last season for Aidan O'Brien.

The Juddmonte International Stakes Odds for 2012 are looking just as exciting with Rip Van Winkle the new favourite for the race following the injury to Harbinger, the Aidan O'Brien horse will be the mount of Johnny Murtagh and he will be well backed following a good last could of 18 months. Also set to take their chances could be the likes of Byword and Buzzword who picked up the German Derby recently, both will be well backed and will be looking forward to taking on Rip Van Winkle.

In addition to those great Group One races there is of course one of the oldest races on the racing calendar, the Ebor Handicap itself, which has been in existence since 1840. Other great races include the Great Voltigeur Stakes and the Lowther Stakes.
